There is an overwhelming desire for most people to get the most out of life. But what does that even mean? Let’s break it down a bit.
This model is stuffed full of assumptions. It presupposes that life is something one can take from. As though it were a fixed piece. It has a beginning and an end and a decision point will either bestow more or less of “life.” It assumes that one can define and prioritize what would be a life of mediocrity, of more, and of most. The final major assumption is that life is a given; since you exist, so does it.
These all add up to trying to determine what is the best course of action. Often, this leads many people to never take any action at all, and for others to constantly look outside their own decision making powers to decide.
But the human mind has the amazing ability to rationalize, connect, and organize actions and activities. So when we do act, what for? What compels this action?
This ability to rationalize, contemplate, and consider often overtakes the human consciousness which generates this notion of dwelling in the past or contemplating the future, no longer able to appreciate the present.
This lack of presence results in taking the status quo for granted and thus losing sight of the awe and beauty of life.
From my observations, the human mind rationalizes that the best way to be “the best” is to emulate those who in its mind are associated with the best. And with every society-defined “best” there is this ability to overcome adversity.
So to be the best, overcome adversity. The question then becomes: how badly do you want to overcome it?
When times are hard, most people give up.
But to not give up overcoming adversity, to be the best, to get the most out of life, the best place to start is to understand what one wants.
In order to do so, many have turned to this concept of finding your passion. But how does one find this passion? Every successful person seems to have it, but what is it?
So, what does life mean for you? How do you do what you will in life? Perhaps this post helps.
Either way, please do let me know.
