In this, the beginning of the 4th quarter of the year, you have an opportunity to slide, coast, or excel.
As the temperature drops, the clouds roll in, the snow starts to fall, there’s an increasing incentive to stay in bed, stay in the apartment, stay in a comfortable state.
But, I ask the question Ray Lewis asks:
If tomorrow wasn’t promised, what would you give for today?
What would you spend today thinking about? Yourself? Where to order food from? How to get warmly from one place to another?
…OR….
Would you start to think of others–your family, friends, significant other, your legacy?
This driving motivation that tomorrow does not come for many, and therefore may not necessarily come to you creates a different frame to view the world.
We get one opportunity at life.
Whatever legacy you’re going to leave, leave your legacy. And it’s found through effort.
Wins and losses are a dime a dozen, but effort, nobody can judge effort.
Because effort is between you and you…
Be pissed off for greatness.
Because if you aren’t pissed off for greatness, that means you’re okay with being mediocre. You’re okay with the past.
So the question I ask you, “Are you okay with the way your past is?”
Are you okay with cruising in this last quarter of the year? Or, will you strive to be better today than yesterday?
