I often ask you as loyal readers to ignore certain facts of an issue to focus on my main point. I’m not sure if that’s okay to do. Isolating factors to cherry pick the point I want to make seems a bit like cheating. But all too often the beautiful moments of life can be washed over with the flood of complaints and problems.
My hope is that for a moment, you are whisked away to feel, to experience gratitude and other higher-state emotions. Life has and always will have challenges and imperfections. To see beauty in the day-to-day is a practice of intentional focus–one which shouldn’t ignore or pretend naively that the challenges of life don’t exist. But rather, to simply, for a moment, allow yourself to fill with inspiration, motivation, and gratitude for a better world (and then go make money making it happen).
And that is the frame I ask you to use for this week’s post.
There is a lot that I could say about Coca-Cola, the essence of which was posed as a question and subsequently ignored at the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Convention last week. Sandbagging a question like that in a public forum deserves its own discussion I am also ignoring for now.
But one thing that is undeniable is Coca-Cola’s world-class branding and marketing. And this week, I want to share with you one of my favorites of theirs–encapsulated in a short commercial pill, it delivers both life lessons and those higher-state emotions worthy of focusing on.
It might just cure you of the desire to slack off and slide into the weekend.
I hope you enjoy…
